Emmerdale: Who plays Mary Goskirk's love interest Faye?

Mary Goskirk (Louise Jameson)’s love life hasn’t had the smoothest run in Emmerdale, but romance might finally be blossoming for the soap icon.

After being left deflated by a string of unsuccessful dates, romance is beginning to blossom between her and newcomer Faye – and things have now gone even further with the pair as they progressed to a kiss in recent episodes – and took things even further.

Viewers, meanwhile, have been left wondering where they have seen the actress who plays Faye before – as she’s a familiar face from TV.

Who plays the role and what else has she been in?

Who plays Faye in Emmerdale and what else has she been in?

Faye is played in Emmerdale by actress Jane Gurnett.

Jane. 66, has been a familiar face on our screens since the 1980s, with roles in the likes of Dangerfield, Drowning By Numbers, The Royal and Crossroads, in which she played Kate Russell.

However she is probably best known for her role in Casualty as nurse Rachel Longworth, appearing from 1994 until 1996.

More recently viewers saw her in Doctors as character Verity Foster.

Jane has also appeared onstage at the National Theatre and with the Royal Shakespeare Company.

Away from acting Jane – who has a daughter from her relationship with Corrie actor Ray Fearon (aka the soap’s Nathan Harding) is a co-founder of the organisation Act for Autism, which provides support and advice to members of the autistic community, as well as providing creative projects to give them a voice.

We don’t know yet how long Faye will be in Emmerdale, or whether Jane might become a regular face in the soap.

We’ll just have to keep watching to see how things progress with her and Mary – and whether she might finally have found love.

Emmerdale continues on Monday night on ITV at 7pm.
