GEORGE Clarke's Remarkable Renovations viewers were left 'heartbroken' after a homeowner revealed some bombshell news.

In the show, presenter George, 48, visits people who are breathing new life into unused and unloved properties, usually in the most creative of ways.

An episode of the Channel 4 show saw George meet James, who had bought a former glassworks in Brighton.

"This is an old Victorian glass factory, it's been abandoned for 20 years. I've had my heart set on this building for 20 years and I've owned it for four years. But the whole of that time, I've been wanting to make this into my own home," James explained when he met George for the first time.

James had decided to painstakingly restore the whole property with a budget of £500,000.

Along with his budget, James had an uncompromising vision for his glassworks renovation, which he planned to began before the pandemic in 2019.

He didn't take the easy options and viewers were gripped by his progress with the property.

So much so, they were shocked to discover in the final moments that James planned to sell it.
