Good Morning Britain host Adil Ray questioned why Prince William and Prince Harry were allowed to walk behind the coffin of their late mother, Princess Diana, on the ITV show.
It comes 25 years after the young royals joined by their father, Prince Charles, grandfather, Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, and uncle, Earl Spencer, in the funeral procession.

The brothers, aged 12 and 15, had been unsure about whether they were up to performing the important task following Diana's death in a car crash at the age of 36 in 1997.
On the day, they slowly followed their mother's coffin with their heads tilted to the floor.
While discussing the moment on GMB, Adil shared his thoughts on the decision.
Alongside co-host Charlotte Hawkins, he said: "Every time I see that scene of the sons walking behind the coffin I think, 'Why was that allowed?'
"It’s a terrible thing for them to have to do, really."
Charlotte agreed: "To have their grief on show, publicly."
Adil went on: "For those of us who have lost loved ones in our lives, imagine having to do that.
"It’s just absolutely heartbreaking."
Princess Diana tragically passed away as a result of injuries sustained in a car crash in Paris, France.
Two other people in the car were pronounced dead at the scene – French driver Henri Paul and Diana's boyfriend Dodi Al-Fayed, 41.
In 2017, Prince Harry said he was "very glad" he joined the funeral cortege at his mother's funeral – after previously saying it was something no child "should be asked to do".
Prince William also said "it wasn't an easy decision" and it was a "sort of collective family decision" to include him and Prince Harry in the procession.
The Duke of Cambridge recalled using his fringe as a "safety blanket" during the "very long, lonely walk".
"I felt if I looked at the floor and my hair came down over my face, no-one could see me," he said.
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV.
