Calling all baking enthusiasts… grab your apron, baking tray and whisk as The Great British Bake Off is set to return on Tuesday 26 September at 8pm.

Host Prue Leith confirmed the exciting news today and told fans, "We are back! Get the date in your diary, set a reminder and join us in the tent."

This year long-time presenters Prue and Paul Hollywood are joined again by the hilarious Noel Fielding and new member Alison Hammond.

Fans were quick to rush to social media and could barely contain their excitement.

One wrote, "SO EXCITED, been waiting a long time" while another wrote, "can't wait."

For the past two years, comedian Matt alongside his partner in crime Noel, have provided words of wisdom and support to our favourite bakers as they tried to impress the judges while in the Bake Off tent.

And there's no doubt that Alison will be able to bring that same warmth and humour, as fans have shown encouragement.

"I am really looking forward to seeing Alison and Noel together. They are going to be great," one said on Instagram.
