I made £120k a year and was on a hit show – now I sleep on friends’ floors on a mattress, says ex Coronation Street star | The Sun

FORMER Coronation Street star Sean Ward has claimed "speaking out" cost him a very comfortable lifestyle.

Sean, 35, began angering fans on social media a couple of years ago when he started airing his controversial opinions.

The offensive posts have cost him his career and £120k salary on the ITV show, where he was playing bad boy Callum Logan.

He's now hit out on Instagram, admitting he sleeps on friends' floors these days and earns a tenth of his old pay packet.

Sharing a red carpet photo of himself before being cancelled, Sean penned a lengthy caption over the weekend.

In it, he wrote, "I know deeply how lonely this can be and isolating, after trying to take my own life in 2018 after discovering the evil on this planet and no one caring.

"I decided using whatever s**tty little platform I'd built through my acting career to at least try sieve through the propaganda together and thereby sabotaging my own reasonably successful career- to go from earning 120K a year to 12K a year, sleeping on a mates mattress is actually unfathomable to most people.

"I’m still building a life to feel proud of. It wasn’t much of a choice though as far as I’m concerned, but something of a moral necessity.

"And, of course, for the resourceful, there's always more than one way to earn a living, and I’ve built myself back up many times over the last 3 years when all hope was lost, so it doesn't feel like I've thrown away very much in fact.

"I always will return to acting. When the time is right. But my inner pain losing everything that I built was hard and I have admittedly spiralled out of control many times.

"Especially after losing my Grandad. So it’s still an ongoing process not to numb myself with alcohol and drugs. I haven’t fallen into that horrible path now for months.

"So i am proud of myself and anyone else feeling the same. You’re never alone. We all have shown we care. And that keeps me going. Thank you. Seany x."

In August of 2021, Sean was arrested during a London protest.

Sean later revealed he had struggled to get work and was forced to give up his four bed house.

At his peak, the actor starred in the BBC’s Our Girl military drama alongside Michelle Keegan.

Sean was nominated for British Soap Awards, too, for Villain of the Year and Best Newcomer in 2015.
