ITV I’m A Celebrity fans issue demand for Ant and Dec as Sam Thompson crowned winner

Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly have been at the helm of I’m A Celebrity for two decades.

The pair were back for the final time this year in last night’s (December 10) final, which saw Made in Chelsea star Sam Thompson crowned the winner.

It came after weeks of brutal trials, campmate rows, as well as some very wholesome friendships made.

But many fans of the show had a a demand for Ant and Dec during the last episode of the series on Sunday.

In the all-male final, Sam, along with Tony Bellew and Nigel Farage, had to take on one final Bushtucker Trial.

Tony was up first, and was covered in all different critters and jungle horrors, including fish guts, mealworms and spiders.

The former boxer labelled the task a “disgrace” and called this fellow campmates “a*******s” as the critters bit him.

Ant and Dec – along with Nigel and Sam – struggled to hide their laughter throughout, leading to fans making quite the suggestion.

They called for the two hosts to give trials a go in the future, with one fan sharing: “"I genuinely want to see Ant and Dec put themselves in the jungle lmao.”

Another added: “If Ant & Dec aren’t contestants in the final ever series of @imacelebrity I’m not watching. It’s got to be done.”

"We need a one off episode with Ant and Dec doing the trials because I’m sick of them standing there,” someone else agreed.

A viewer echoed: "Ant and Dec need to actually go into the jungle next time, it's been a long time coming.”

At one point during the trial, Sam told his newfound pal: “Just pretend you're Nigel.”

But Tony quickly shouted back: "No thanks,” which left the hosts laughing, and a shocked Nigel responding with: "Charming…"

After the sportsman endured the grim trial, Sam was faced with an eating trial while Nigel had to take on the Panic Pit.

All three of the finalists managed to complete their final tasks, meaning they got to feast like kings in their choice of three-course meals.

The final result saw Sam win, while Tony took second place and former UKIP politician Nigel finish in third place.

Sam made his surprise at the win very clear, telling the hosts: “I’m really overwhelmed, I didn’t think I was even going to be invited on this show.”

Speaking to voters, he said: “I am so grateful, thank you so much, I’ve dreamt of doing this show for years and years, and you made this boy’s dream come true.”
