FORMER Love Island star Tyler Cruickshank has revealed that there's only ONE swear word Islanders are banned from using.

The reality TV star – who rose to fame on the ITV2 dating show last summer – revealed the behind-the-scenes secret that would see certain contestants "told off" by producers.

Love Island fans will be aware that the Islanders are allowed to swear on telly – with an array of foul language allowed during the show.

The F-word is frequently heard between the contestants, often as part of foul-mouthed rants and disagreements between couples.

However, former contestant Tyler, 27, has since revealed there is one word that the dating hopefuls are "banned" from using.

The TV star – who was coupled up with Kaz Kamwi in the villa – told the Daily Star that the "C-word" is strictly off limits.

"When we were saying things in there, we would get told off quite a lot because they weren't politically correct," Tyler said of the rules.

"Like you can't say 'Chinese whispers' like, I get it but it's something that would slip out of your mouth."

"You can't say the C-word either," he added, before revealing the consequences: " You get called to the beach hut and get told off.

"You can't do accents either. I was trying to use the French accent and I wasn't very good which is probably why they told me off."

It comes after Love Island fans were left baffled as the girls were heard mimicking American accents in last night's episode.

Paige Thorne, Summer Botwe and Danica Taylor could be heard switching between English and American while chatting to Adam Collard on their dates.

Those watching at home clocked the odd habit and took to Twitter to comment on it, with one writing: “Why was Summer American for half of that date?"

A second commented: “The girls put on American accents are cringe AF," as a third added: "Why do all the girls turn American when talking to Adam?"

Last month, former Islander Tyler was forced to make a grovelling apology to his former co-star Rachel Finni after "humiliating" her in a social media video.

Rachel, 30, blasted her co-stars following an livestream, where they implied that she wasn't worthy of being called a bombshell.

Tyler, 26, along with fellow ex-islanders Jake Cornish, 25, Brad McClelland, 26, and Aaron Francis, 24, decided to go live on Instagram.

During the broadcast, the former Love Island stars discussed a range of topics, but conversation soon turned to discuss their season's female bombshells.

When Rachel's name was mentioned – as she was one of the first bombshells to enter the villa – Brad scoffed and pulled a face.

Despite the conversation moving on for a second, Brad brought back the conversation again to clearly state: "Again, Rachel, NOT a bombshell".
