I’m A Celebrityhosts Ant and Dec have spoken out following Jamie Lynn Spears’ shock exit.

The sister of Britney Spears was one of many famous faces taking part in the show. However on Wednesday (November 29) it was confirmed that she had quit the show “on medical grounds.”

A show spokesperson said: "Jamie Lynn Spears has left I'm A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! on medical grounds. She's been a fantastic campmate who has triumphed at trials and bonded well with her fellow celebrities."

During Wednesday’s episode (November 29) hosts Ant and Dec addressed Jamie’s exit. They said: “Hello, we have some breaking news for you.

'Jamie Lynn Spears has left the camp on medical grounds. The good news is Jamie Lynn is doing fine and she goes away with our best wishes.”

Fans were left gobsmacked at Jamie's shock exit. On X, formerly known as Twitter, one person said: "Pretty gutted that Jamie Lynn has gone." Someone else added: "Not gonna lie, kinda gutted Jamie -Lynns left the show, I actually didn’t mind her at all."

Sources on the show said Jamie Lynn's exit was linked to her missing her family. One said: "She has been struggling physically and mentally for some time. If you look back even last week this is not a complete surprise by any means."

As early as the third episode of the series over a week ago, she had spoken about quitting the jungle. At the time she broke down in tears when she wasn't given her luxury item.

Mother of two Jamie Lynn's exit follows Grace Dent's departure from the camp only a couple of days earlier, as the food critic also left the show "for medical reasons". A spokesperson for ITV said on Grace's exit confirmed that she had left the show.

The spokesperson added: "Unfortunately Grace Dent has left the show on medical grounds. She has been a great campmate and will be missed by her fellow celebrities and viewers alike."
