GRAND Designs' award-winning 'straw house' is now available to stay in – and here's how.
The Quiet Earth Eco House in Ceredigion was build back in the mid-2000s by Rachel Shiamh who was awarded the Grand Designs Most Sustainable Host award in 2008.
The property is situated in St Dogmaels on a hilltop overlooking breathtaking views of Cardigan estuary, close to local beaches and the Pembrokeshire coastal footpath.
The house is built with natural materials, harvesting rainwater and utilising biofuel. All contributing to a sustainable space and guest experience.
It has no timber frame and the structure is made from straw bales alone pegged with hazel sticks.
The newly listed AirBnb property was the first two storey load bearing straw bale house in the UK.
