Inside Olly Murs’ incredible fitness transformation and body overhaul | The Sun

OLLY Murs has totally transformed his body after the past few years.

The 38-year-old revealed his incredible weight loss and ripped physique after physical and ‘mental transformation’ last September.

Olly, who shot to fame on The X Factor in 2009, started his fitness journey back in 2020.

In 2019 the singer underwent knee surgery, which contributed to his weight gain.

Olly started dating his bodybuilder fiance Amelia Tank the same year, it was her who inspired him to get into the best shape of his life after his recovery.

He talked about his girlfriend's help while discussing his trimmed-down physique on Heart Breakfast with Jamie Theakston and Amanda Holden.

He explained: "She’s not a personal trainer but she’s done bikini competitions in the past and she does train a lot, but she is actually my personal trainer."

Olly joked, "In more ways than one, " before adding in a more serious tone: "She’s brilliant and she’s been absolutely fantastic.

"She just gave me that extra little bit of encouragement and she says, 'it’s not up to me to do it, you’ve got to be able to do it yourself. You’ve got to get up to do it every day.' So I was like, 'okay I will.'"

The Wrapped Up singer went on: "So she did this little nutritional plan for me and I just went out and did it and I loved it. And I still love it now."

In March 2020 the star lost nearly two stone after his injury left him bed-bound and unable to exercise.

Olly told The Sun Online: "I was 14st 3lbs. I'm always between 12st 8lbs and 13lbs. And I'm 12st 8lbs now.

"To be that heavy was not good for me. I did not feel fit, I was having really bad sleepless nights, I was grumpy.

"I just wasn't myself so I'm glad I've got back to where I feel most comfortable."

Then in July 2021 he revealed his incredible body transformation as he showed off his dreamy six pack in a new snap.

He joked: "Gunna tell my kids I was a Calvin Klein model 🤣🤪✌🏻."

The star has continued to work up a sweat at the gym and eat clean.

Last September Olly showed off his results on Instagram.

The Voice judge's fitness trainer, Rob Solly, took to his Instagram page to reveal before-and-after images of his progress during the past five months.

In the new images, he is seen looking glum in the before snap while in the after shot, he flashes a beaming smile.

The X Factor star's trainer explained Olly's hard work in a lengthy caption, which told how the benefits had been more than just rock hard abs.

He wrote: "A transformation focuses on the physical but what makes these pictures special to me is the mental aspect of @ollymurs journey in the last 5 months.

"In all honesty, he’s done this physical transition before, several times.

"But after his last leg operation six months ago Olly wasn’t the bundle of energy and optimism that he had been previously.

"Having got himself in amazing shape in 2021 and ready to hit the road complications with Olly’s knee (from an ACL injury over a decade ago) began to arise and the really tough decision to go back ‘under the knife’ was taken.

"Olly was now on crutches for weeks and when I went round there to train he doubted he could ever get into the shape & attain the fitness levels he’d had only months earlier."

He added: "Some sessions weren’t as they’d been before, with Olly recently telling me he’d be so pissed off when I’d ask him to do chin ups etc during the the sessions.

"But even though the atmosphere in a few of our sessions was tense Olly showed up every Monday and Friday.

"Brick by brick this started to change, the artist I’d known who always challenged himself during our sessions began to resurface.

"The music got a little louder, the training top got a little looser & it wasn’t long before Olly added a boxing session and a swim session to his training. He was self motivated. Adding a weekly session at @viphq to the mix too."

He concluded:Last week we talked about this mental journey & I appreciated his honesty & ability to be candid. So to me these pictures mean little, what means a lot is to have the energy, confidence, happiness & belief back in @ollymurs

"Someone who brightens the room for so many people. Olly I’m super proud of you, you did this, you make stuff happen (11:11) & I can’t wait for the world to hear your new album.
