MARTIN Lewis' wife Lara Lewington is joining ITV's Lorraine as their new technology expert in a role that was specially created for her.

The glamorous TV presenter and journalist, who has been a reporter on BBC's Click since 2011, announced her career news alongside photos from the ITV studio.

Lara, 44, penned on X, formerly Twitter: "Excited to announce I’ve joined the @ITV @lorraine team as TV’s first AI Agony Aunt.

"I’ll be breaking down the facts, and answering viewers’ questions on AI and tech.

"Much important stuff to discuss on what it means to be human in the age of AI. (Still on @bbcclick too!)."

She married Money Saving Expert and Good Morning Britain star Martin, 51, in 2009.

Lara previously started her career as a runner on the game show it's a Knockout while she attended St Mary's University in Twickenham.

In 2003 she joined Channel 5 as a weather presenter and spent six years at the channel, also becoming the showbiz correspondent for Five News, before a stint as a showbiz correspondent on Sky News.

Lara has also appeared weekly on ITV's The Impressionable Jon Culshaw, BBC Two's Newsnight, ITV's Britain's Best Dish and BBC's Let's Dance For Sports Relief.

The talented journalist has also been the technology columnist for Woman magazine.

In April 2020 Martin was forced to defend his wife on Twitter after trolls called her a "gold digger".

When one person tweeted his wife and said: "What first attracted you to the millionaire Martin Lewis… comes to mind…"

The finance expert shot back: "I know you think it's a joke, but actually it's offensive both to me and my wife – you're accusing her of being a gold digger.

"We've been together for 15 [years] since way before MSE was out big.

"And the mutual support and love we give each other is part of where we both are now."

The pair live together in London where they set up a home studio where they both presented their TV shows during lockdown.

Martin previously revealed Lara helped him get set up to film the Money Saving Expert show from his new home office studio and office.

The pair have a daughter named Sapphire Susan Lewis who was born on November 1, 2012.
