Kat shoots Keeble dead in terrifying EastEnders gun showdown as shot is fired?

The lives of Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace), Tommy Moon (Sonny Kendall) and DCI Keeble (Alison Newman) hang in the balance in EastEnders, after a gunshot rang out following a tense showdown.

Kat and son Tommy were taken prisoner earlier this week in a plot orchestrated by an irate Keeble, who was intent on revenge after finding out that Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) had managed to outsmart her.

Phil, as viewers know, had been in a cahoots with Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters), who got an unsuspecting Keeble to admit on tape that she had a plan to frame Phil.

Keanu, however, double-crossed Phil after he went back on their deal, with the mechanic telling the dodgy detective all about what Phil had been up to.

Desperate for revenge, Keeble had Tommy and Kat kidnapped.

The corrupt copper has been holding the mother and son duo captive at a disused warehouse, demanding that Phil hand over the recording he has on her and allow Billy Mitchell (Perry Fenwick) to go down for her dad’s murder – just like she intended all along.

Kat, meanwhile, plotted her escape, with Wednesday’s (January 4) edition of the BBC One soap seeing her confront gun-toting Keeble, hoping to reason with her.

A showdown ensued, as the two women brawled over the gun, with horrified Tommy looking on. Phil and Keanu, who had joined forces in a bid to rescue the captives, arrived at the warehouse, where they were welcomed with the sound of a horror gun shot!

The question is: just who has been shot?

Has Kat shot Keeble, thus bringing this saga to an end? Or is it Kat herself who has taken a bullet?

Or maybe it’s Tommy? Either way, it’s safe to say that you’re not going to want to miss what happens next.

EastEnders continues Thursday January 5 at 7:30pm on BBC One.
