After Ranveer Gulati (Anil Goutam) disappeared from EastEnders the official explanation for his disappearance was that he was in Mumbai.
Viewers, of course, know that Ranveer is dead, killed by his son Ravi (Aaron Thiara) although Suki (Balvinder Sopal) still believes she’s the one who ended Ranveer’s life by hitting him over the head with a clock when he tried to rape her.
Kheerat (Jaz Singh Deol) soon became suspicious about what had happened to Ranveer when nobody seemed to really know his whereabouts. Even contacts in Mumbai hadn’t seen him.
Meanwhile Nina (Hersha Verity) has been revealed to be Ravi’s accomplice and the two are scheming to get their hands on Ranveer’s money. For this, Nina has to report her husband missing.
When Kheerat hears about this his suspicions grow. Realising he’s not going to get the truth from Ravi, he decides he wants to question Ravi’s son Nugget (Juhaim Rasul Choudhury), so he invites him out for a milkshake along with Stacey (Lacey Turner)’s daughter Lily (Lillia Turner).
Later the Panesars are celebrating Diwali at Walford East, with Nish (Navin Chowdhry) taking his place as head of the family.
The celebratory mood is broken when Kheerat tells everyone that Ranveer is officially missing. Ravi tries to make light of it, but Kheerat isn’t buying his attempt to gloss over things and the two men argue. Nish interrupts, but Kheerat tells his father he doesn’t trust him.
Kheerat is not going to let the matter drop, but there’s a bombshell in store for him. Eve (Heather Peace) tells him about Ranveer trying to sexually assault Suki – and Kheerat realises this could also have been the same night that Ranveer disappeared.
Will Kheerat’s suspicions now fall on his mother?
