Kieran Hayler has finally revealed the real reason he cheated on Katie Price with two of her best friends and their children’s nanny following a furious showdown between the married couple.
In scenes set to be aired in Katie’s new reality series My Crazy Life, the estranged pair have a sweary row about why Kieran, 31, keeps dipping his wick elsewhere.
And why he doesn’t explain himself fully to wife Katie 40, later Kieran tells the camera about the actual cause of conflict within their rollercoaster relationship.
"In hindsight, I don’t regret anything that’s happened between me and Kate, I think it’s all a journey and it’s taught me and her some very harsh lessons in life," he says when he’s in their house alone.
"But I do believe maybe we should have taken things slower from the start."
Although Kieran doesn’t confirm whether taking things slow would have stopped him cheating, he did say the infidelity ‘wasn’t him’.
"I regret every single time I’ve been unfaithful to Kate, I can’t help it but now there’s hopefully things in place to stop me doing it," he says.
The couple married on January 16 2013, just a month after they met, and their son Jett was born exactly seven months later in August.
Three months later, Katie was pregnant once again with baby Bunny – although she didn’t find out until she was five months gone and had just discovered Kieran was cheating with best friend Jane Pountney.
Kieran gave up his career as a stripper with the Dreamboys and became a full-time dad and stepdad to Katie’s five children.
During their foul-mouthed argument, Katie demands to know why Kieran thought it was OK to have sex with their nanny, Nikki Brown, after she took him back following his first infidelity.
"My head’s f**ked, you gave me so much s**t last year about Tom Zanetti, when really you was going behind my back," she tells him.
"I’m not going to argue, I’ve got my own speculation about what happened," Kieran hits back.
"There’s never been a problem in our relationship, that’s why I can’t understand why he’d want to go with these other people. Why did you do it?" she asks.
"I don’t know why I did it, I can’t answer it but I know there’s something there, that’s why I’m seeking help," he tells her, getting defensive.
"You know the difference between right and wrong, does it not cross your mind you shouldn’t be doing this?"
He snarks: "No, it doesn’t cross my mind it’s wrong because it’s not wrong at the time. It is wrong and I know it’s wrong, that’s why I’ve been going to therapy every week on a Thursday, I go to my therapist. I do it all, Kate."
As a makeup-free Katie stares him out, Kieran breathes heavily.
She asks him how she can know he’s not going to cheat again – and he tells her she’ll just have to trust her.
"Would you have an open relationship?" she questions.
"No, I don’t want an open relationship. I’m jealous and I love you and that’s not what should happen. I know that’s f**ked up because of what I’ve done but you have to realise it’s not me, that’s why I’m getting help," Kieran says.
"You’re perfect in every way for me, but you keep f**king up," she points out.
Kieran asks what he can do to make it better, to which she shouts: "Keep your f**king dick in your pants. I lost my perfect husband because he betrayed me and what’s left is the shell of Kieran who’s still in my head; perfect, good-looking, does everything perfect, but then I look at you and think ‘he’s still being a devil’."
"I hold my hands up and I’m sorry, you need to tell me what to do," he tells her.
"You’ve manipulated me so much that I’m in this rut, you’re clever. I could employ someone to come in and do everything you do, but I love you," she says, sadly.
"So you have to move forward, if you can’t then you shouldn’t be with me."
"I shouldn’t be with you because of what you’ve done, I deserve better. People think I’m a f**king mug to be staying with you," she shouts over him.
"You probably are," he coldly replies.
"How many bullets can I take? I’m so broken. You’ve f**ked me over, it’s so difficult," Katie says, her shoulders sagging.
The couple have since split, with Kieran moving out of their multimillion-pound home and in with his mum nearby.
But during filming Katie still thought they might have a shot, telling the camera she couldn’t just chuck him out.
"It’s easy to walk away from a relationship and it’s harder to stay and work it out," she said.
"I am a trier – I’ve got children involved and I don’t want to hurt the children, so you’ve got to think I’d be hurting five little hearts, so you have to be sensible and do things right, which is what I’m trying to do."
