Neighbours legend teases epic Ramsay Street return – but can’t resist swipe at soap | The Sun

A NEIGHBOURS legend has teased an epic return to Ramsay Street – but couldn't resist a swipe at the soap.

The Aussie show will return to Amazon Freevee next month, just over a year after it originally came to an end.

Many of the show's most famous characters are returning, including Paul Robinson, Karl and Susan Kennedy, Toadie and Harold Bishop.

Now Delta Goodrem – who played Nina Tucker – has hinted she would be up for a return to Erinsborough as well.

Appearing on This Morning, Delta, 38, said: "I’m always open. I’m always an open spirit. Never say never."

Delta originally played Nina in Neighbours from 2002 to 2005, before briefly returning in 2015.

She continued: "Nina is busy at the moment with her tour but at some point… I mean I love Neighbours, I love the gang there, it’s a great show. I love that it's continuing on."

But Delta couldn't help but take a swipe at the show as she added with a laugh: "I actually said that I think they just wanted to… update the backstage maybe…because the same couch had been there for a long time.”

Last week, Amazon Freevee released the first look trailer for the rebooted series.

It opens with Susan Kennedy (Jackie Woodburne) saying: "A lot has happened in the last two years."

While husband Karl (Alan Fletcher) said: "All roads lead back to Ramsay Street."

Jane Harris (Annie Jones) is seen cuddling up happily with Mike Young (Guy Pearce) but the moment may not last as she later admits: "I have been keeping something from you."

Meanwhile Paul Robinson (Stefan Dennis) has plenty of drama on his hands thanks to new arrival Reece Sinclair – played by Mischa Barton.

Reece is seen growing close to Xavier Molyneux's new character, with the pair sharing a steamy snog at the hotel.

However, Reece clearly has a connection to Paul who said: "I want you to find out exactly what she's been doing since she's been here."

When Melissa Bell's character Lucy asks "why would she not make her presence known?" a wound up Paul replies: "Because she is a spy!"

But it's not all tension, as there's a funny moment where Dr Karl walks in naked except for a box in front of his privates, to the surprise of Susan.

And a wedding is also on the cards, but will it go without a hitch?

Neighbours will premiere on Freevee on September 18.
