Lorraine: Krishnan Guru-Murphy shows off his weight loss
Strictly Come Dancing star Krishnan Guru-Murthy has opened up about his weight loss journey since being on the BBC dancing competition.
Krishnan and his professional partner Lauren Oakley joined Lorraine Kelly stand-in Ranvir Singh on Thursday morning to discuss their upcoming performance.
However, whilst commenting on Krishnan’s jacket being a little big for him, he revealed how much weight he had lost.
Ranvir noted: “Can I just say, that jacket looks very loose on you,” to which he joked: “Yeah well everything is loose on me.”
Asking Krishnan to stand up, Ranvir revealed to the camera that his jacket had to be pinned at the back for it to be able to fit him nicely.

“This is how much weight this man has lost, he has got safety pins! It doesn’t fit you anymore! What has happened to your body?” Ranvir exclaimed.
Krishnan quipped: “Oh dear you weren’t supposed to see that. I have got this belt that was normally there, and is now there,” pointing to the old loop and the new loop.
“I am keeping this belt forever! It has seven holes.”
Krishnan also touched on the fears that he had before starting the show due to his genetic heart condition.

He explained he thought a lot of things would go wrong but it has had the reverse effect and has made him feel fitter and more able to maintain his health.
Touching on his condition before starting on the show, Krishnan told The Sun: “The basic advice is, I’ve got to keep my heart out of the red zone, which is the last 15 percent of your heart rate.
“So, I’ve got to keep my heart rate below about 140, and I don’t know whether you can do that or not, in a 90-second very fast dance.
“My cardiologist basically said, ‘I can’t give you a hundred per cent guarantee that you won’t drop dead, but you’ll be fine’. The Charleston will be a challenge, but we’ll see.
“I have to listen to my body. I have that condition Elvis had and footballers have when they can suddenly drop.
“The task for me is more about training and not raising my heart level for longer periods of time than a two-minute dance.
“There will be a defibrillator for me. I have a heart condition but it doesn’t mean you can’t do Strictly.”
Lorraine airs weekdays from 9am on ITV1 and ITVX.
