Little Mix fans were astonished after realising Leigh-Anne Pinnock’s mum was on First Dates Hotel, as she searched for romance on a dreamy trip abroad.

Every now and then, the heartwarming Channel 4 programme serves up surprises that throw viewers off guard, from unexpected reunions in the restaurant to cheeky gifts exchanged between daters.

On the latest episode of First Dates Hotel, Debbie Pinnock, mum to singer Leigh-Anne, headed over to the luxury resort in Italy, where she was set up with a charming man named Rob.

Debbie – who works as a teacher – didn’t reveal who her famous daughter is straight away, with the revelation coming when she and Rob were getting to know one another better during dinner.

When Rob asked her how old her daughters are, she responded: ‘They’re 32, 30, and 27. My youngest one, she’s a singer in a girl band, she’s doing really well for herself.’

Rob appeared to look impressed, as Debbie added: ‘Well she’s only as famous as you know… if you know who she is, as such.’

She then finally revealed her daughter is the one and only Leigh-Anne from Little Mix, as Rob’s eyes widened with shock, telling his date that he of course knew who the musician was.

At the end of their date, Debbie and Rob told the cameras that they were both interested in seeing each other again, having got on swimmingly.

The following day, they even shared a kiss, as the end of the episode revealed: ‘After finding love in Italy, back home, Rob and Debbie’s romance continued.’

However, it’s unknown how their romance continued to progress in the outside world, as the episode was filmed a few years ago.

Several Little Mix fans expressed how delighted they were to see Debbie on the episode.

‘Will be watching for u queen,’ one person tweeted, as another wrote: ‘Look at you gooooo.’

Given Debbie said Leigh-Anne was 27 while on her date, it’s clear the episode was filmed around three years ago, given the singer is now 30 years old.

Leigh-Anne has been with her fiancé, footballer Andre Gray, since 2016, with the couple welcoming twins in August 2021.

First Dates Hotel is available to watch on All 4.
