Lorraine viewers blast 'disgusting' Christmas segment amid 'stressful' cost of living crisis | The Sun

LORRAINE fans have vented their fury at a "disgusting" festive segment amid the cost of living crisis.

Viewers of the ITV daytime series took to X formerly known as Twitter in their droves on Wednesday after a section from money expert Claer Barrett.

Claer was chatting to anchor Lorraine Kelly, 63, about ways to manage Christmas finances such as arranging with family about who is buying presents for who to avoid excess spending.

She also suggested buying one present a week in the run up to the big day to help prepare, as well as putting aside £10 a week to help lessen the financial blow in December.

One fan took to social media to rage at the Lorraine segment dubbed Claer's Christmas Club.

They took fire at the show mentioning the pricey annual celebrations amid the current cost of living struggles in the UK.

They wrote: "I think its disgusting the way you've dropped xmas in on #lorraine like we don't have enough stress. It's still summer.

"You can't wait for us to buy into the next thing can you. Thanks for the added stress today."

Another agreed and put: "I understand the segment on Lorraine about saving for Christmas but they don’t realise how poor some of us actually are – they’re suggesting to save £10 a week, most families don’t have £40 a month to save in these times that is a budget supermarket shop!!"

One then continued: "Lorraine wifey talking about #christmas tips for 'managing the cost.' Suggests if you save £10/week, that’s £130 by Christmas.
