Love Island star joins Australian version of dating show in bid to find romance

UK Love Island star Lucinda Strafford has revealed she has joined the Australian version of the show.

Taking to Instagram to announce the news, the influencer shared a picture of her posing in a black swimsuit, with the caption: "Lucinda is looking for love in the @LoveIslandAU Villa! Stream the new season of #LoveIslandAU from Monday, October 30 on @9now."

Lucinda, 23, failed to find love when she first entered the UK villa in 2021, despite forming romantic relationships with Brad McClelland and Aaron Francis.

The blonde bombshell will be the first British contestant to head down under and join the Aussie line-up.

It comes as Australian contestants Jessie Wynter and Aaron Waters joined the UK cast for winter Love Island in Cape Town.

A source told The Sun how 'ditzy' Lucinda will be perfect for the Aussie series, saying: "Lucinda is a bona fide Love Island legend, so everyone’s really excited for even more viewers to enjoy her special brand of ditzy banter – who can forget her 'really?' catchphrase?

"She’s so gorgeous, she was a real hit with the lads in the Majorca villa, so no doubt Lucinda will have the Aussie lads' heads spinning too.

"Of course, people all around the world watch the global versions of Love Island, so it’s likely the cast will know exactly who she is – and know she knows how to play the game – which always ruffles feathers."

They added that the star is so excited to 'get grafting' again.

Brighton beauty Lucinda entered the UK series as a bombshell alongside Millie Court.

Lucinda, Millie, and Chloe Burrows quickly formed a strong bond as they were dubbed the 'naughty trio' of the show.

The new season premieres in Australia on October 30 on Channel 9, with it also coming out later in the UK on ITVBe and ITVX.

It comes ahead of another spin-off of the popular dating show.

Love Island Games is set in stunning Fiji and will see fan favourites from Love Island series across the world as they battle it out for a second chance at finding their perfect match.

The show will debut on Peacock on November 1, with a number of UK Love Island legends confirmed to be going on.

Viewers can look forward to seeing Curtis Pritchard, Megan Barton Hanson, Jack Fowler, Liberty Poole, Eyal Booker, Toby Aromolaran, and Scott Van-Der Sluis take part.
