Love Island stars say the show will be even better without Laura Whitmore after Maya Jama becomes new host | The Sun

LOVE Island stars reckon the show will be even more dynamite without Laura Whitmore as Maya Jama takes over the reigns.

The new look Winter Love Island will start next Monday from South Africa with a whole new look after Laura announced she was quitting the hit ITV show last year.

Maya has been hailed the saviour of Love Island by past contestants who can't wait to watch the new series.

Paige Thorne told The Sun at the star-studded I Wanna Dance With Somebody premiere, she can't wait to tune in.

The Love Island star said: "Then show will be fire. That's because Maya is fire. It's going to be amazing. I can't wait to see what she'll do."

Even former winner Cara de la Hoyde has vowed to start watching Love Island again after she boycotted it over the past two years after being busy with motherhood.

The glam star, who won the show with Nathan Massey in 2016, told The Sun at the star-studded Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile premiere: "I'm totally buzzing for Maya to take over.

"I'm going to have to start watching it again now.

"I love her on Glow Up too, she's got so much personality. Love Island is going to be epic this winter. I can't wait."

Cara,  who is doting mum to adorable tots Freddie and Delilah, said previously: "It's too much.

"I don't watch it anymore. I'm too busy with my kids. I've got two now, got no time for that."

It came after Celebrity Juice team captain Laura, 37, told how she was leaving the high profile presenter role after three series.

The Sun revealed Maya would replace Laura earlier this month.

She will appear in the winter version which is set to return to South Africa in January.

It is thought Maya — worth around £2.5million — will also host the dating show’s summer edition from Majorca.

TV and radio presenter Vick Hope, 33 and ex-Love Islander Maura Higgins, 31, had also been in the running.

It comes after Irish host Laura, 37, quit in August having replaced the late Caroline Flack in 2020.
