Love Island viewers go wild as Dr Alex George gets a snog with Ellie Brown after sweetening her up with pudding

Fans were over the moon as they watching the unlucky-in-love A&E doctor, 27, lean in to snog the Geordie lass, 20, during a villa date.

While enjoying the dessert he had been tasked with preparing for Ellie, Alex said: "I think you're gorgeous."

Sat across from him at their dinner table by the pool, the Geordie replied: "I think you're gorgeous too."

As the doctor started to lean in, she asked: "What are we doing? One kiss, it's a first date."

After breaking away, she grinned, and the camera then panned to Adam Collard galncing over happily at the couple.

Alex continued: "Thanks for asking me."

Picking up her drink, Ellie replied: "I hope we have another one."

Later on, Alex could be seen celebrating with fellow contestants Adam and Jack Fincham.

The pen salesman said: "Look at your face mate. You can't stop giggling!"

Those watching at home rushed to Twitter to share their excitement at the show's turn of events.

The next day Alex was shown hard at work in the kitchen.

Asked what he was doing, he replied: "Making breakfast for Ellie. A surprise breakfast."

When Ellie entered the kitchen she seemed shocked by his sweet gesture.

After they had finished eating at the breakfast bar she leaned over the table to give him a quick peck.
