Love Island star Indiyah Polack has given a damning verdict on the future of stars Sammy Root and Jess Harding ’s relationship.

In an appearance on Aftersun, which dissects all the latest shenanigans from inside the sprawling Spanish villa, the former Islander didn’t hold back when discussing why their romance is doomed to fail in the outside world.

Following last night’s (16 July) recoupling, which saw Jess choose to partner up with Sammy once again, host Maya Jama asked the panel: “Do we think they can make it all the way, inside?”

Indiyah, 24, replied: “Inside, yeah, outside, no. I feel like they’ve both realised they don’t have any other option.” Elaborating, the reality star continued: “I feel like Jess is kind of smitten by Sammy – I’m not sure why?

“I really want to know why, but she likes him a lot and if it’s working for [her], it is. I still don’t want Sammy for her, I want the best for her and that is not Sammy.”

This elicited applause from the Aftersun audience, with many viewers at home in agreement with her. On Twitter, one fan said: “Indiyah just comes on aftersun to look good and speak the truth how can you not love her???”

Another commented: “Indiyah is saying everything I'm thinking about this episode”, while a third added: “Indiyah's shade about wanting to understand why jess is into Sammy”.

Jess and Sammy have had a tumultuous relationship during their tenure in on the smash hit reality dating show, with the recent arrival of bombshell Josh Brocklebank causing yet another stir.

The 26 year old financial advisor entered the villa alongside model Ella Barnes, 23. After just one day getting to know their new co-stars, the pair were forced to choose someone to couple up with. Josh decided to couple up with Jess, much to Sammy’s dismay.

Not wanting to be rude or dismissive, Jess chatted with Josh and, for a moment, it looked like her head may be turned but ultimately, she told the new arrival she was keen to stick with Sammy.

The rocky couple had a tense discussion following Josh’s move, with Jess explaining she merely had conversations with the new arrival whereas Sammy had been less sensitive with his interactions with new arrivals in the past.

When picture researcher Mal Nicol entered the villa as a bombshell back in June, she went on a date with Sammy where she told him her type is "tall, dark and handsome", to which he joked they were "starting off well."

"Maybe that's not you, we'll see," Mal hit back. "Feel like it is," Sammy said, before going on to describe his type as "small brunette” – which is in contrast to blonde beauty, Jess. But, after last night’s recoupling, Sammy and Jess have reunited once again.
