Love Island 2023 winner Jess Harding has had a 23rd birthday to forget.

Videoed on Instagram partying with some pals in Ibiza this week, things seemed to be going so well for the reality TV star, but then disaster struck, with Jess writing from a medical room: "Definitely not how I wanted to spend my birthday, emergency dentist appointment [laughing emoji] Only me x."

Next came another update as she walked down the street telling her camera and 838,000 followers: "Oh my God can you see how swollen my face is this side? I've just been to an emergency dentist appointment because I've got an infection and I'm on antibiotics for a week! So happy birthday to me!"

While she recovers, at least she can soak up the birthday love from her nearest and dearest, including boyfriend Sammy Root.

"Happy birthday to my beautiful girl. We met in a very unique way and what we have together is very unique. The last couple of months have been amazing and I can't wait to make so many more memories," shared the 22 year old fellow islander.

This comes shortly after Jess and Sammy joined presenter Christine Lampard on the Lorraine programme to discuss their unseen struggles while living in the TV villa this summer.

"No one has a perfect love story. I think the excitement of Casa Amor, going to another villa and having a bit of time away, it’s exciting but then I actually deepened it and knowing that you were single, and knowing that full-well you were going to couple up with someone else, it was kind of a bit disheartening," reflected the blonde.

"But you know, I tried and I knew what I wanted and that’s why I came back on my own. I was just true to myself. I can accept rejection, you know – obviously even though you were coupled up with Amber, which you had to, I kind of prepared myself for the worst. So, yeah, I put on a brave front."

The star has been generously interactive with her social fanbase ever since her and Sammy's Love Island triumph, telling them just a matter of weeks ago just how much filler/Botox she's played around with.

Addressing one follower's question of "What have you had done?", Jess responded: "So I've actually had my lips done if you can't notice. I've had a bit of Botox and I've had a bit in my cheeks as well, but only small amounts. Before I had lip filler I had the smallest lips ever, tiny lips. So yeah, I do love having lip filler."

Sammy himself was in the background of the video, too, prompting his other half to ask: "What have you had done, babe?"

"My lips and a bit of eyebrow filler," he joked.

Turning her attention back to the remaining queries, which included her thoughts on under-eye filler, Jess shared: "Personally I'm not a big fan of tear-through-filler. You can get under-eye skin boosters which are a lot safer and sometimes have better results."
