Love Island’s Maura Higgins gave best pal Leah stern warning ahead of stint

Love Island's Leah Taylor joined the summer 2023 line-up and was soon wooed by Montel McKeznie.

Although their relationship came crashing down after his dalliances in Casa Amor, they left as a rekindled couple – but it seems the trust wasn't quite there and they soon ended their romance.

Leah faced her own highs and lows while she was in the villa, but she went in knowing every part of what was to come, admitting her best pal Maura Higgins gave her all the information beforehand.

Speaking to Daily Star, Leah said: "Maura’s advice was so good because it was more just like well-rounded information. She gave me all the good and all the bad that can basically come from it, so it helped me to make my own decision.

"In terms of advice, it was more just like, just be yourself. It’s nice for your friends to say that too because obviously they believe in you enough as a person.

"She said people will love you if you just be yourself, so it was really nice that I had that chat with her before I went in there."

Leah admitted that as soon as she got her phone back she FaceTimed Maura immediately but was hit with the news that she was in Fiji for Love Island USA.

While Leah was hoping to see her best pal in person she added: "Maura is so iconic, I feel like there's no one better for the job. I'm honestly so proud of her.

"I can't wait for her to come back though so we can do a bit of a sleepover and just catch up. She's doing amazing."

Maura is currently on Love Island USA as a social media representative and has also been going in the villa for the occasional challenge.

Instead of a return to the villa as an islander like many fans had requested, or even as the host of the show, which fans also begged for, she's gone in a completely new capacity.

There are set to be additional opportunities for ex islanders to go back on the show, with Love Island All Stars set to make a comeback in January 2024.
