Love Island’s Tanya confirms stars are planning ‘team tattoo’ to remember stint

Love Island finalist Tanya Manhenga and her boyfriend Shaq Muhammad have revealed they plan to get a ‘team tattoo’ with their fellow islanders to mark their experience on the show.

The loved-up pair, who came in fourth behind Samie and Tom, Lana and Ron and winners Kai and Sunam, gushed at the idea of the permanent inking.

Speaking after their exit from the villa, the pair were asked about a commemorative tattoo, to which Shaq gushed: “We actually had this conversation before!”

Tanya said she suggested a small palm tree, gushing: “I said let’s get the palm tree. Like a little one, because it’s not too much.”

Shaq agreed but suggested a separate tattoo idea just for the boys.

“I’ve got loads of tattoos as it is so it will just blend in. Kai was suggesting we all get little dragons, all the boys, because we all love dragons! But I think we’ll go with the palm tree probably, just to remember this time.”

ITV has since released a break-down of the official results, which showed that the winners picked up 44% of the public vote.

They were followed by Ron Hall and Lana Jenkins, with 30%, and Tom Clare and Samie Elishi trailed with 24%.

However, Shaq and Tanya were by far behind the rest after only garnering the support of 2% of voters.

While neither have commented on the results since leaving the villa, they did say in the finale they were ready to start a life together on the outside despite the grilling from his sister when the families and friends arrived.

The penultimate episode of the reality dating show saw the house's most turbulent relationship come under fire from the couple's nearest and dearest, who did not hold back.

In the episode, one of Shaq's friends declared Tanya had “done him dirty”, while his sister warned him against trusting and forgiving too quickly.

She said: “I wish she had dealt with situations differently. Going forward don't be so quick to forgive, people have to actually do the work to show you that they've… do you know what I mean?

“We could tell you weren't yourself, it was hard to watch you”.

Some Love Island fans thought the results were funny, and said the results were karma.

“Shaq and Tanya getting 2% was the highlight of my day,” one person wrote.

“She talked stink about Kai and Sanam.”

“Shaq and Tanya getting 2% of the public vote…they deserve it,” another added.
