Mandy confronts devastated Lydia with affair accusation in Emmerdale

Chas Dingle’s (Lucy Pargeter) recent comments about not spreading gossip appear to have gone completely over Mandy Dingle’s (Lisa Riley) head in Emmerdale, as she continues to fuel the theory that Lydia (Karen Blick) is having an affair with Craig (Ben Addis).

Mandy’s thoughts couldn’t be further from the truth, as we know Craig raped Lydia a few weeks ago. As a result of the trauma, Lydia’s behaviour has changed and has also previously expressed how she doesn’t want Samson (Sam Hall) spending anymore time with Craig.

Mandy has picked up on Lydia acting differently and recently reached the conclusion that she might end her marriage with Sam (James Hooton) to be with her childhood friend.

Coming up, back working at Craig’s offices, Samson wonders why his work experience was initially stopped. Craig uses this opportunity to manipulate the story to suit his fabricated version of events, which causes Samson to believe that something happened between him and Lydia.

Back in the village, while on the phone to Cathy (Gabrielle Dowling), Samson speaks too loudly and openly – and the entire conversation is overheard by Mandy.

Now believing that Lydia and Craig have been having an affair, Mandy is determined to find out the truth.

The next day, Lydia is horrified when an upset Mandy confronts her about the supposed affair. Devastated, Lydia rushes out of the house after shutting down Mandy’s accusations.

She is then found by Kim (Claire King), who is alarmed to see Lydia sobbing.

Unable to withstand Craig’s lies any longer, Lydia finally tells her friend that she was raped.
