Married at First Sight UK groom opens up on regret after daunting experience

Married at First Sight UK intruder groom Matt Pilmoor has admitted that he regrets not watching the show before joining the cast of the E4 reality show.

The Yorkshire-based bodybuilder ties the knot with blonde bombshell Adrienne Naylor during Monday's (October 9) episode after meeting her for the first time at the alter. They are one of the four new couples who joined the social experiment as late arrivals.

Matt and Adrienne put their trust in relationship gurus Mel Schilling, Charlene Douglas and Paul C Brunson and they were coupled up together after months of analysis from the mentors.

"I think for me it was quite daunting coming in quite late. I think maybe the aspect of what people are going to think of us as a couple and also us as individuals, I had them thoughts of 'Am I going to come across alright? Am I going to fit in alright? but that kind of goes away when you realise your there to be finding love. It's quite daunting I have to say."

"I've never watched it in my life. I went through the process quite quick as well. They execs were saying to me you should probably watch a few episodes and I was like 'I don't need to watch it, it's absolutely fine and it will just be easy going' but thinking back now I didn't know what a dinner party was, I didn't know what a commitment ceremony was.

"I'd say to my other half 'what's this? what are we doing today?' so I didn't have a clue. I should have watched it probably."

Matt's wife Adrienne added that she thought the MAFS UK experts would do her dirty and pair her with someone the complete opposite to what she asked for. She said: "My wedding day was magical. When I met Matt I felt like we'd known each other for years and it felt natural.

"It was strange because you go in sneakily think the experts are going to do you a little bit dirty and give you the opposite of what you want because we've seen it happen before and I thought 'that's just my luck that will happen to me' but it didn't and I was so surprised.

"At one point we forgot the cameras were even there. We was sat at the top table and it was literally like I'd planned this wedding and it was everybody who we loved and adored around us, our friends and family bonded and it was just incredible."

Fans will have to wait and see if Matt and Adrienne make it to the vow renewals at the end of the series.

Married at First Sight UK airs Monday to Thursday on E4 at 9pm
