Married At First Sight UK bride Whitney Elizabeth Hughes has come under fire by former star Bob Voysey after making her fiery debut.

The popular E4 show returned to screens on Monday evening (August 29) and introduced a whole new set of singletons who prepared to stand opposite a stranger at the altar.

During the first episode, Whitney clashed with Jess just minutes into the new series, telling her "you do you" after saying she would sleep with her husband on their wedding night.

"You do you, you do you," she said with a disapproved look on her face, adding: "But I won't be doing it."

A furious Jess was seething at Whitney's reaction and went on to call her a "b****".

And it appears some of the show's former contestants were far from impressed with Whitney's behaviour.

Speaking on the Recapped At First Sight podcast, hosts Kat Shoob and Bob were joined by former contestants Adam Aveling and Tayah Victoria.

Discussing Whitney, Tayah told the group: "I do feel for Whitney, she has been through a lot in her life that's obviously affected her. You never know how people are going to react when something like that would happened in your life."

Adam: "She's clearly quite cold with her feelings."

Tayah added: "It's a protection thing."

Bob said: "Your feelings are even more heightened because of the process you're in. The nerves alone can make people say the wrong thing, let alone everything else that has happened."

However, the reality star went on admit that there was no excuse for Whitney's behaviour.

Bob continued: "I don't think there's an excuse to be unnecessarily rude to people."

PA Whitney, who is from St Albans, was paired with fellow contestant Duka Cav last night.

When the other brides asked Whitney what she was looking for, the 31-year-old explained: "Tall, tanned, toned, big thighs. I want him to have big, massive thighs.

"I'm not going to be impressed if he doesn't have a full beard. No patches, because I'm not here for that."

She also described herself as "cold, cocky, arrogant, too confident, rude".

However, Whitney did go on to share her heartbreak after her mother suddenly passed away in a car crash at the age of 55.

"She was driving home from work and a man crashed into her," she told the other brides.

"I really miss her. I want to say she's my best friend."

Breaking down in tears, Whitney added: "I don't think I would have done this before my mum but why not? Life is so short, just jump right in there."
