My Mum, Your Dad’s Janey and Roger’s first photoshoot! Christmas plans, house swapping and kids

After finding love on My Mum, Your Dad, Janey Smith has revealed her loved-up Christmas plans with Roger Hawes and how they're splitting time between their two homes as they "just want to be together".

Janey, 47 and Roger, 59 hit it off when they appeared on the new ITV dating show after being nominated by their children Jess and William in a bid to find love again. Since the show, they've been spending a lot of time together at their homes along with a romantic getaway in a secluded cabin and are as happy as ever.

They sat down with OK! thanks to fashion brand JD Williams, who treated Janey and her co-stars Caroline, Tolullah, Sharon, Monique and Natalie to a day of pampering and a makeover in this season's latest styles.

Speaking exclusively to OK! about their relationship in between shots, Janey said: "It's going so well – he's so easygoing and we just laugh all the time, I think I might wake up and it's all a dream.

"It's the easiest thing being Roger's girlfriend, it's just lovely and we can't stop laughing it's ridiculous, we're so ridiculous."

After they finished filming for the series, Janey said: "It was strange because we went back to normal life because the show hadn't gone out and we just had the best time, we'd go back and forth to each other's homes – that was how it was for about four months or so.

"And then it suddenly went on TV and we thought 'Oh everyone knows' but it's been absolutely lovely and I just can't believe it honestly".

Janey went on to share that at the moment they're still going back and forth to their houses in West Sussex and Derbyshire but went from "weekend sharing to week to week."

"We're just doing more and without sounding too corny we just want to be together, so that's how we're going to roll with it for now".

Janey added that she often sees Roger's two daughters Jess (who appeared on the show), Alex who lives nearby and his son Ben who lives with him. Her son William, who nominated her for the show, has returned to Cardiff University but Janey said they have family plans to visit him there soon.

The doting mum said: "We're going to visit him for a weekend, myself, Roger and the kids, because he's not here I want to keep him involved, so we'll be planning that soon.

"He just wants the best for me and he's happy I've got Roger now, I'm not sitting at home on my own."

Talking about future plans with Roger, Janey shared: "We'll probably go on a couple of holidays and further down the line, we're not sure just yet as Roger's family are all in Derbyshire and I have my family down south so I think we're just going to have to navigate it, there's no pressure on either side, as long as everyone's happy that what's its all about."

While they already have their Christmas plans sorted as Janey said: "I think he'll be with his family for the day and I'll be with mine, we'll meet up Christmas evening and bring the families together.

"We just want to spend time together that's the main thing and we just want to have a lovely time and enjoy things together.

"We're both aware of how lucky we are that this has happened."

She added: "William and Jess are the reason we're in a relationship, I went in very open-minded and I said to myself at the beginning of this year I'm not being on my own anymore, I had lived on my own for so long, 20 years other than William.

"I thought 'Yeah I want something special for myself now' but I did not see this coming, not at all. And who would have thought, I'd end up on a TV show and meet Roger, it's insane."

When asked about her thoughts of Roger when she first laid eyes on him, Janey confessed: "I thought 'Oh my god he's fit' he stands out, he's quite striking and I just knew we'd get on.

"He's cut from the same cloth, we're fun people and I could see he had very kind eyes. We just have such a laugh."

JD Williams is the headline sponsor for the relationship show My Mum, Your Dad, and has launched a stylish date-ready collection with the stars of the show, designed to enable midlife women to feel confident, all season long, whatever their situationship. The TV show aired on ITV1, ITVX, and STV last month, and is available to watch on catch up.
