Of Value, episode two of the 14th season of NCIS LA will throw up a haunting case to the likes of G Callen (played by Chris O’Donnell), Sam Hanna (LL Cool J) and the rest of the team when a pair of architects are kidnapped from their home while their children are inside. Elsewhere, the synopsis teases Callen and Marty Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) will also face family challenges of their own. And a sneak peek at the instalment shares an insight into the two agents’ approaches to their respective hurdles.

To recap, the official synopsis from CBS for Of Value reads: “After an architect duo who specialises in designing secure buildings is kidnapped, the NCIS team mounts a search to bring them home.

“Also, Deeks and Kensi (Daniela Ruah) realise they may need to get Rosa (Natalia Del Riego) some help with her schoolwork, and Anna (Bar Play) considers a career outside of law enforcement.”

To add to the excitement, CBS has released a short sneak peek from the instalment involving Deeks and Callen going to investigate the aforementioned architects’ homes.

However, their attention soon veers from the case to their own families, and Deeks may have just fueled the theory that Anna and Callen could be welcoming their own little one very soon.

“Evidently architecture pays,” Deeks quips when he enters the scene with Callen, who divulges: “I wanted to be an architect when I was a kid.”

A surprised Deeks replies: “Yeah? Well, seems to be a cool job minus the math and engineering part. What kind of architect?”

“I dunno. I liked hotels, train stations, airports, that sort of thing,” Callen answers, prompting a sarcastic Deeks to say: “Uh-huh. Lots to unpack with that statement… Taken from their own home.”

At this point, the duo look over a range of family portraits of the architects with their children, making it more sentimental to Deeks given his new role of foster parent to Rosa.

“Well, at least the kids didn’t see it happen,” Callen said. “Hey, how’s Rosa adapting to her new life here in LA?”

“She’s a champ. So strong and resilient,” Deeks replies, although admits: “I think she’s tired of me asking if there’s anything she wants to talk about.

“It just means I care, it’s what love looks like. Speaking of caring and loving, how’s engagement treating you?” Deeks probes to Callen.

“It’s good,” Callen replies rather bluntly before explaining: “She’s trying to figure out what her life will look like in LA when she’s married and not working in law enforcement.”

Sharing his own respective given he and Kensi are both agents, Deeks weighs in: “Well, she’s an incredible law enforcement officer, ATF would be lucky to have her back, but I do get the reluctance of being a two-badge family.

“And if you do decide to have children-“ Deeks goes on before Callen abruptly cuts him off at the suggestion.

“Kids! We just got engaged, we’re not even close to that,” Callen insists, but Deeks sees right through his reluctance.

“I’m just saying, if and or when, it’s a big decision to make,” Deeks says but Callen seems uninterested.

“Uh-huh,” Callen brushes off before exploring the house. “And here is the home office…”

“Good talk,” Deeks sarcastically comments as he follows his colleague, but could his words ring in Callen’s ears?

Given how he and Anna are now finally getting their life on track together, kids may well be in his mind.

And with Deeks bringing the topic up, could this spark Callen into action and plan to start a family with Anna?
