Netflix fans have praised How To Build A Sex Room after the show host and designer Melanie Rose exploring kink with the couples openly and in a positive light.

The show dropped earlier this month and now that people have had a few days to binge the episodes, they've now shared their thoughts.

The first episode introduces viewers to Taylor and AJ, who were wanting to spice things up in the bedroom – or rather, their soon to be sex basement.

Melanie spoke to the first couple about flogging, later taking them to some pros who demonstrated it for them.

Taylor then got restrained as she was flogged, with AJ watching on while the pros made it clear that consent – a definitive "yes" – was needed in this sort of play.

The series also explored handcuffs, bondage, anal play and, of course, plenty of sex toys as Melanie made her clients' dreams come true.

Fans were loving what they saw – with Melanie even getting involved in the spanking – and shared their thoughts on Twitter.

One said: "Netflix's How To Build A Sex Room is so sex positive and diverse. There's heterosexual couples, gay couples, interracial couples, polyamorous couples/families – at all stages of life, relationships, kinks. So home-makeover/renovation truly done right."

Another said: "How To Build A Sex Room is basically queer eye for kink and I am here for it."

A third wrote: "I love watching people get introduced to kink!"

Someone else said: "How To Build A Sex Room is delightful! I've never seen kink in such positive light. Beautifully and eloquently done I must say! We need more TV that poses it as a normality. The fact that they featured real sex workers means so much… keep this! It's now my favourite show."

And a fifth added: "I am so happy with how the show turned out. I love how funny and cute it is and how they really normalise kink and provide education about certain aspects of it. I am also so proud they used real sex workers and painted us in a positive light."
