Netflix’s offerings have taken a festive turn as the holiday season approaches, with a new original movie led by a slew of A-listers that was seemingly destined to take top spot in the holiday rankings.
Unfortunately, it almost instantly earned the rank of “worst Christmas movie ever” after less than two weeks on the streaming platform.
Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, fans unleashed their brutal opinions on the new blockbuster, dubbing it “terrible”, “cringy”, “awkward”, a “waste of 1.5hrs” and completely “not redeemable”.
One even went as far as advising others: “Avoid or even better, poke your eyes out. That’s far more enjoyable.”
Another declared: “Netflix’s Best Christmas Ever is the worst movie I’ve ever watched.. you guys should be ashamed for airing this,” as a third film fanatic revealed it was their “lowest ranked” film of the entire year”.
However, not everyone was entirely against the festive feature, with one social media fan giving it a five out of 10 rating, explaining: “The general plot is solid, the 90s nostalgia is strong but the crazy scenes of disbelief are soooooo bad. They didn’t even need those! Cut those.”
Others pointed out that all of the “cringey” aspects critics were slamming are the exact type of thing they look for in holiday flicks.
One fan explained: “It’s corny, cheesy, and goofy when trying to be charming.
“It’s perfect as a Christmas movie to enjoy with kids & adults who know Brandy, Heather Graham, Jason Biggs. Easy to watch when you’re stuffed full of holiday food, sweets, & drinks.”

The cringe-seekers have not been enough to pull up the Christmas film’s rankings as it bagged a dreadful 38 percent score on Rotten Tomato just nine days after its release.
The Hollywood cast is led by Austin Powers star Heather Graham, 90’s pop icon Brandy and American Pie legend Jason Biggs.
Best Christmas Ever! follows mother-of-two Charlotte (Heather Graham) and her husband Rob (Jason Biggs) as they arrive uninvited at the house of her ex-best friend Jackie (Brandy) during the holidays in a bid to find a messy reality of her seemingly perfect life.
Best Christmas Ever! is available to stream on Netflix.
