Nigel Farage struggles with I’m A Celebrity trial as he mutters ‘I can’t do this

I’m A Celeb: Nigel Farage struggles with trial in episode preview

Former UKIP leader turned GB News host Nigel Farage and Hollyoaks icon Nick Pickard struggle to win stars for camp in the latest I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here trial called In Too Deep as a preview released by ITV shows.

Nigel, in particular, finds the challenge extremely difficult and admits he “can’t do this” in the latest Bushtucker Trial.

The pair are placed in separate chambers that slowly fill with water and they must take it in turns to submerge themselves to unscrew numbered stars with a wrench.

After Nick retrieves one, Nigel dives down but quickly reemerges sighing: “I can’t do this.”

“He’s shaking his head, it’s tricky, ” Ant McPartlin says as Nigle makes another attempt to grab a star but fails as Declan Donnelly comments: “He’s finding it hard to get down there.”

Dec advises him to try and use the ladder to help him down as Nick shouts words of encouragement from the second chamber but to no avail.

“That was better though Nige, keep going,” Ant encouraged him after yet another failed attempt.

It is unknown if he manages to overcome his anxiety and win some starts for the camp who will all be hungry after a small meal last night as they only had five stars for food.

Nick and Nigel were thrust into the trial after Nella Rose was deemed unable on medical grounds, which has led to fix allegations from fans.

Viewers had been voting for the trial In Too Deep which is an underwater trial, but the 26-year-old YouTube star became exempt from doing the trial at the very last moment.

In the closing moments of Tuesday night’s episode of the ITV show, Ant and Dec headed into the camp to reveal who would be doing the next trial and confirmed Nella was being checked over by the medics and therefore exempt.

However, angry fans took to X, formerly known as Twitter to express their views on the matter, with some arguing it’s a “fix”. One person said: “They making the tasks easy for #nella then completely fixing it saying she’s ‘seeing a doctor’ basically she got all the votes again #imaceleb.” (sic)

Another viewer wrote: “Omg Nella going full Gillian McKeith to get out of the trial, smart queen #ImACeleb.”

A statement from an ITV spokesperson said: “During last night’s live broadcast, Nella Rose required medical treatment on site and was deemed unable to take part in the trial. Nella has since rejoined the camp,” the spokesperson confirmed as they concluded the statement.

I’m A Celebrity continues tonight at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
