Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid have supported their friend Kate Garraway after she appeared on Good Morning Britain to talk about her husband Derek Draper’s coronavirus battle.
Kate opened up about how she and her children have been coping while Derek battles coronavirus in intensive care.
Piers tweeted: ‘Wow. Such a moving, emotional, inspiring interview on @GMB with my fabulous friend @kategarraway about her family’s #coronavirus turmoil.
‘So proud of you Kate, as Derek would be too. We’re all behind you, hoping & praying for a miracle.’
Meanwhile, Susanna Reid also shared her support for Kate, writing: ‘Oh @kategarraway you are such a tower of strength for Derek and the children.

‘So much love for you all. Everyone watching is with you, hoping for that miracle.’
The 53-year-old became emotional as she recalled his final words before he went into a coma. ‘He was very bad,’ she said.
‘He was begging me, saying “I can’t stand this, I can’t stand this. I feel like I’m suffocating every second of the day, I can’t take it, please let them put me in a coma”.’
The presenter’s husband of 15 years was taken to hospital back in April and has been fighting for his live ever since.
Kate and her children continued the weekly applause for the NHS this week.
In a sweet video, Kate posted the trio having their own mini clap as they cheer on Derek’s recovery from their home.
‘No official #clapforcarers tonight but we just wanted have our own mini one as our heart felt thanks go on to all fighting to keep Derek with us,’ she said. ‘Tomorrow I will have the chance to update you & thank you for all your support on @gmb – see you at seven.’
Derek has been in hospital since 1 April after contracting the virus, and has remained in intensive care ever since.
She has been supported by the entire Good Morning Britain team, with Ben giving personal updates every week since his hospitalisation.
