Hollyoaks stars Owen Warner and Jemma Donovan were quick to dispel rumours that they’d called time on their relationship following numerous reports in the media.
The real-life couple, who play Romeo Nightingale and Rayne Royce on the Channel 4 soap respectively, went public with their relationship in April, with a cheeky Instagram post that saw Owen, 23, pretending to propose.
But reports in the media, which circulated earlier this week, suggested that the pair had split up, though claimed that they remained on good terms and would continue to work together.
Owen, however, was quick to dispel those rumours, taking to social media to share a video of himself on his Instagram stories. The soap star at first stated that he and Jemma had in fact split up, saying that she was ‘devastated’.
The camera, however, soon panned around to reveal that Jemma was by his side, as she feigned upset. Owen added that these reports were another example of how the media can ‘chat s**t’.
Jemma, who rose to fame as Harlow Robinson on Neighbours, concluded the clip by stating that she and Owen are ‘better than ever’.
Couple goals.
The pair are at the centre of a highly impactful storyline on Hollyoaks at the moment, as social media influencer Rayne continues to become more and more controlling, isolating Romeo from his loved ones.
Monday’s (August 21) first look edition of the Channel 4 soap saw Rayne show her true nature, as she goaded boyfriend Romeo, who called out her unacceptable behaviour, before violently attacking him.
Rayne’s days are numbered, with a number of residents on a mission to expose her villainous ways, though it’s not yet known when exactly she will get her comeuppance.
