Richard Madeley slammed by GMB fans as he gives away show plot and ruins it

Good Morning Britain frontman Richard Madeley has been slammed by viewers for "giving away" spoilers to one of the BBC's hit shows.

The ITV star came under fire on Wednesday 16 August after speaking to actress Anne Reid, who plays Ann Moore-Martin in new drama The Sixth Commandment.

Throughout the interview, 67 year old Richard made it clear that he is a huge fan of the series – but so much so he ended up spilling too many details about the dramatic plot line.

For viewers who are yet to watch the gripping series, which is based on real-life events, they have little left to discover after Richard's description of the show.

His revelations left fans furious, and it didn't take long for them to flock to X, formally known as Twitter, to share their anger.

One of those fans said: "Richard Madeley telling the whole plot of the show. I won't bother watching it now."

While another added: "If you haven’t seen the sixth commandment, Madeley gave it all away instead of letting Anne Reid speak."

"Anne Reid is blooming lovely! If only Richard would let her speak. I’m sure she even eye rolled him at one point," said this viewer.

Finally, this fan begged: "Stop butting in Richard."

The Sixth Commandment has a whole host of big names starring in the series, from Èanna Hardwicke to Timothy Spall.

It is a four-part series based on real life events that saw author Peter Farquhar killed by Benjamin Field.

In 2015, Benjamin created a fake relationship with Peter in a bid to take advantage of him.

Eventually, he used the same tactics to his neighbour Ann Moore-Martin.

The first episode of the show was broadcast in July, with the rest of the episodes now available on iPlayer.

As viewers have been watching the show, they have been sharing their views on it on social media, with one calling it "excellent."

"Goodness, just finished the excellent 'The Sixth Commandment.

"What a desperately sad story, so powerful but so cruel. Timothy Spall is superb."

With another saying: "I’ve started to watch #thesixthcomandment WOW."

"Thoroughly enjoyed The Sixth Comandment but ridiculous that the genius guy didn't realise he was being poisoned," said this viewer.

Completing the reaction, this person said: "I am watching the sixth commandment, it’s horrifying."
