FORMER Hollyoaks star Ricky Whittle has been spotted looking worlds away from his soap character Calvin Valentine.

The actor has been spotted filming for scenes with Hollywood actor Luke Hemsworth as part of the cast of Hollywood film Land of Bad.


Ricky, 40, who rose to fame as Calvin in the Channel 4 soap, kept it casual army-printed trousers and a green top.

He could be seen chatting away to his co-stars as he donned an army-style hat and stood with his arms behind his back.

Ricky looked worlds away from his former character, as he sported an impressive sleek facial hair look, with a neatly trimmed beard.

The star could be seen smiling as he joked around, revealing a large gold watch and the word "bad" tattooed on his left arm.

While Ricky was pictured with Luke, 41 – his younger brother Liam, 32, is also said to have joined the cast of the action thriller.

Meanwhile, Luke kept it causal in a pair of beige trousers, a beige army top and cap as he stood watching scenes be filmed.

The behind-the-scenes snaps also showed Australian actor Daniel MacPherson on set – wearing dark shades and carrying a thick stack of script papers.

Russel Crowe – best known for his role in Gladiators – is also set to take part in the film, which details Air Force pilots in the South Philippines on a special ops mission.

Earlier this year, Ricky was spotted looking unrecognisable 12 years after quitting his soap role, as he posed on the red carpet.

His dark locks had been dyed a platinum blonde on top, as he posed for the camera in a suave suit jacket with matching shorts.

Ricky, who was a contestant on Strictly Come Dancing in 2009, went on to make it big in LA after leaving the Cheshire-based soap.

He has starred in the US remake of BBC drama, Mistresses, action series The 100 and fantasy show American Gods.

He stars in the latter series opposite Ian McShane of Lovejoy fame.

The Oldham-born actor also has several film credits to his name, including Netflix film Nappily Ever After, as well as 2013 romcom Austenland.

Back in the Hollyoaks days, Ricky dated his co-star Carley Stenson, who played Steph Cunningham in the soap.

Since moving to the US, he has been linked to former Gossip Girl actress Jessica Szhor and Demi Moore's daughter Rumer Willis.
