Rise and Falls building will be transformed into a luxury hotel

Rise and Fall Preview: Two new arrivals shake things up

From the mind of The Traitors on BBC One, Rise and Fall watches 16 contestants split into two groups, where one half is living the life of luxury and power while the rest are forced to reside in a basement. The Channel 4 game show sees the stars form manipulative alliances and do all they can to move up or remain in their seat of power so they can be in with the chance of winning the £100,000 prize. Fans of the series have been glued to their screens since the show launched last month, with many eagle-eyes feeling they’ve seen the building where it’s shot, before.

WARNING: This article contains spoilers from Rise and Fall.

Which building is Rise and Fall filmed in?

Channel 4 first commissioned Rise and Fall for its first season with production company Studio Lambert back in August 2022.

An application was put forward a month later to film the show at Southbank Tower in Southwark but, for an unknown reason, this didn’t go ahead.

The challenges are reportedly filmed in a studio but a fixed location was sorted out for the basement and penthouse.

A new plan was put into place and shooting instead took place at 55 Broadway, the grand former offices of Transport for London.

The historic building sits above St James’ tube station so fans of Rise and Fall would have walked by during filming, on their everyday commute.

The recognisable art-deco building has been left empty since TfL left the offices three years ago.

TfL had resided at 55 Broadway for 90 years but the impact of the coronavirus pandemic led to the company leaving the premises for good.

Prior to COVID-19 and Rise and Fall, visitors could visit the rooftop terrace where there are stunning views overlooking Westminster and the London Eye.

Fans of the Channel 4 show will be able to go inside the building soon enough though as there is a major ongoing development taking place.

Blue Orchid Hotels will turn 55 Broadway into a new hotel complex after being granted planning permission by Westminster City Council.

It is currently in the process of being renovated by the company with help from designers EPR Architects.

The Grade I listed building will be a 526-room hotel and events venue, giving fans of Rise and Fall a chance to stay where the game show was filmed.

As of yet though, it is unclear when 55 Broadway is going to reopen its doors with renovation works still ongoing.

Things got really heated in the latest Red Room vote-off as Rulers Rossi and Moses couldn’t agree on who to send home.

There were three votes for Jeff and three for James and the deciding vote is up to new Rulers Rossi and Moses during tonight’s [April 4] episode.

If they can’t come to an agreement, both Jeff and James are going to be kicked off the show.

But the stakes are even higher this time as the Grafters are stunned to discover during the elimination.

The Grafters realise that every minute a decision isn’t made, £1,000 will be deducted from the prize fund.

The money begins to dwindle and it gets even worse as they start to lose £5,000 every minute without a final decision.

So will Rossi and Moses finally agree on who to send packing before the jackpot reaches zero?

Rise and Fall is available to watch on Channel 4 and All4.
