Ruth says she'd be 'gutted' if son had long engagement
Ruth Langsford has son Jack with her husband Eamonn Holmes and she was clearly very excited at the thought at him getting engaged.
Speaking to the Loose Women panel, she admitted she would be upset if he chose to have a long engagement.
Coleen Nolan asked: “What about you though? What about you with Jack?”
“I’d be gutted,” Ruth said. “If they had a big long engagement.
“I would, it’s their choice and I’d have to be very mature on the outside of course Coleen.

“It’s absolutely your choice. But if he said to me – he’s got a lovely girlfriend – if he said to me, ‘We’re engaged.’ I’d immediately be planning my outfit.
“I’d be speaking to her mum saying, ‘What colour are you thinking of wearing?’
“I’d hope you know that she would invite me to the hen do. That would all be churning over.
“But on here, I’d be going, ‘No darling, do whatever you like.'”

The conversation came as Gloria Hunniford revealed her grandson Charlie Lindsay is engaged.
Sharing the news, she told the panel: “The other thing is, and I could cry at this point, Charlie actually wanted a church wedding and he told us he’s getting married in the same church that his mum got married in – and his dad obviously.”
Charlie’s mum, and Gloria’s daughter, after a four-year battle with breast cancer aged 41.
Caron died when Charlie was 10 years old and his brother Gabriel, was seven.
In the same show, Coleen Nolan revealed she had a skin cancer scare after she found a “tiny bit of skin” which wouldn’t go away.
She was told by a dermatologist it was cancer and she needed to start treatment straight away. If the cream she was given, didn’t work, she’d have to have the bit of skin cut out.
Coleen told the panel: “He said, ‘No that is basal cell carcinoma, you need to come back in’.
“And all of a sudden you think, ‘No, no can you just say it’s eczema, please? I didn’t come here for that.'”
