Viewers of ITV This Morning are delighted this week as Rylan Clark returns to the presenting chair alongside Ruth Langsford and couldn't resist dropping his first cheeky innuendo of the week-long run during the first segment of the show.

The This Morning crew were committed to teasing Rylan about his experience with a reptile earlier this month when the 33 year old discovered a grass snake in his home in Brentwood and took to Instagram to share his horror with fans.

Rylan was terrified to discover the creature slithering along the bottom of his bi-fold doors and could be heard screaming in a clip uploaded to Instagram Stories, desperately asking his followers: “There is a f*****g snake in my house. What do you do? What do you do?"

On the show today (August 22) the team brought out a huge, real python to show Rylan who looked worried as Ruth said: "Imagine your tiny grass snake compared to that."

Laughing Rylan replied: "I think the bigger they are, the better.

Viewers were delighted to see the TV host back on This Morning after he quit his role the show as Showbiz Reporter in 2017. Taking to Twitter at the time he revealed the reason and hit out at axe rumours.

He wrote: “Rumours in press why I’m 'leaving' or been 'axed' from @thismorning. Truth is I need a break. I’ve been working constantly for 5 years and I need time to myself."

He added: “I’ll still be at Big Bro. I just need to take some time to myself. That’s all. I’ll be back soon xxx”

This Morning viewers were thrilled to see him back on the sofa. One tweeted: "Loving @RuthieeL & @Rylan on @thismorning #ThisMorning Mum and I have watched the snake invasion video Soooo many times. #rylan what a legend!"

Another added: "At last some normality resumes @thismorning… welcome back @RuthieeL @Rylan."

The Big Brother presenter suffered a devastating split from husband Dan Neal, 43, last year and Rylan admitted to "losing himself" and feeling "low" following the breakup after five and a half years of marriage.

Speaking to The Observer in January Rylan revealed: "I didn’t think I’d be here. I didn’t think I could continue." When asked if he meant continuing to work or to live, he said: "Both. I didn’t think I’d actually come back. I was very… gone."

In July, Rylan took to his social media to shoot down rumours that he was linked to Ex on the Beach's Declan Doyle confirming he's single and said: "I'm looking after myself for a change and it's staying that way. Hopefully this clears any fabricated stories up the past few weeks and to whoever is 'selling' them……"

A comment from his PR agency read: "In light of recent made up stories, we, nor Rylan wish to comment on his private life. However on this occasion we feel we need to. There is absolutely no truth to this story or the many others stories that have run about this apparent "relationship" in the past few weeks.

"Rylan is single and lives on his own. Any reports to the contrary are completely fabricated, @carverpr_."
