Rylan Clark gives update on mum Linda after horror fall and surgery abroad

Rylan Clark has given fans an update on his beloved mum Linda after she suffered a bad fall and needed emergency surgery while on holiday.

In an appearance on Loose Women, the TV and radio personality, 34, recalled how the accident occurred, telling the panellists: "She tripped on up the smallest link between like two tiles and unfortunately she broke her leg, she broke her arm.

"I thought in my optimistic mind, 'It's fine, we'll still be able to fly on Thursday we can get her seen [by a doctor] at home.'

"Next thing, I'm there for another week, I’m booking private jets, it's got to be a medical jet – it's been a nightmare to be honest."

He continued: "But, she's good, she's at home watching now. We did have to go to the hospital because she's got another surgery.

"She went to see the surgeon over here and she's going to have another surgery at the end of this week and then we can get her on the move."

Rylan previously opened up about how he paid for a private plane to bring his hospital-bound mum back to the UK, following her horrific injury.

Posting a photo of his mum being transported via a hospital bed to the plain, Rylan wrote: "She might have broke an arm and a leg but she’s cost me an arm and a leg! LINDAS COMING HOME!!

"Massive thank you to the amazing team and surgeons at @helicopterossanitarios . Thanks for looking after my mum x."

After arriving back in the UK, Rylan later took to Twitter to complain after he and Linda were met with even more difficulties when trying to get her stitches and staples removed.

He also revealed that a private surgery had refused to take her in as the original surgery had not been done by them.

Rylan then asked his followers: "If anyone knows of any private hospitals/ medical groups in the Essex area that would accept her as an outpatient please get in touch."

He later revealed that due to his questioning on Twitter, he had been able to find a surgeon to remove his mum's stitches.

Rylan also hit back at trolls who had accused him of "bragging" about using private healthcare, as he wrote: "Now, BECAUSE of my tweet, a private company that WILL accept her got in touch and will see her this week, thankfully.

"Hope that clears up any confusion for you trolls saying I'm bragging about money, slating the NHS. My priority is my mum, always has been, always will be. Have a lovely day."
