Shortest ever celeb jail stints as Boris Becker serves just 8 months | The Sun

He was one of the world’s greatest tennis players with the world at his feet.

But away from the court, Boris Becker’s love of women and messy finances led to a downfall of epic proportions.

The tennis master, who thrilled the world by becoming the youngest and first unseeded player to win the men’s singles at Wimbledon aged 17, was yesterday deported from Britain in disgrace.

He was sent back to Germany after serving less than half of a two-and-a-half year sentence for hiding £2.5 million of assets and loans to avoid paying debts.

But BBC pundit Becker is not the only celebrity to secure a get-of-jail early card.

We look at some of the shortest star jail stints ever.

Nicole Richie – 82 minutes

The socialite holds the record for the shortest celebrity jail stay ever – at 82 minutes.

Nicole, 41, was given a four-day sentence in 2007 for driving the wrong way down a highway after smoking cannabis and taking a strong painkiller.

But Richie, then five months pregnant, spent less than an hour and a half in prison under a policy that saw non-violent offenders sentenced to less than 30 days simply processed then released.

She was fingerprinted and posed for a mugshot – looking like a fashion model – before being told to go home.

Lindsay Lohan – 90 minutes

Mean Girls actress Lindsay served a longer sentence than Nicole – by two minutes.

One-time drug addict Lindsay was given a day in prison after admitting driving on cocaine but was released virtually straight away due to overcrowding.

During her troubles Lindsay, who was once a fresh-faced Disney star appearing in Freaky Friday and Herbie Fully Loaded, was arrested seven times for driving and drug offences. She was jailed six times – for a total of 332 days.

In the end she served 42 days and 84 minutes of her sentences and was on probation for a total of eight years before getting her life back together.

Khloe Kardashian – 3 hours

Khloe was arrested for driving while drunk in California in 2007.

She went on to show remorse on Tyra Banks’ talk show saying what she had done was “unthinkable”, vowing: “I will never, ever do that again.”

But she then missed a court-imposed alcohol education class and skipped community service cleaning up roads.

Khloe, 38, was sentenced to 30 days for breaking probation ,which made for TV gold when sister Kim insisted on taking selfies.

Their frustrated mum Kris Jenner was heard saying: “Kim, would you stop taking pictures of yourself? Your sister is going to jail!”

But the family need not have worried. Khloe served just three hours due to prison overcrowding.

Paris Hilton – 5 days

Heiress Paris was famous for her party lifestyle when she was arrested in 2006 for suspicion of drink driving

She lost her licence but escaped going to jail.

But a year later she was caught behind the wheel and given 45 days behind bars with horrified mum Kathy screaming “You’re pathetic” at the judge.

Paris only served five days in jail and was put on house arrest instead due to “medical issues” that were never revealed.

Paul McCartney – 9 days

The Beatles star was lucky to escape a severe sentence after being caught with half a pound of weed when he landed in Japan during a tour in 1980

He was caught at customs with enough marijuana to warrant seven years in jail.

But Paul managed to convince officials that the cannabis in his suitcase was for personal use and not for distribution.

The singer, who was touring with Wings by then, was sent to prison for nine days before being released – avoiding any real punishment.

He was then deported from Japan and didn’t return for a decade.

Felicity Huffman – 11 days

The Desperate Housewives star was jailed just two weeks for her part in a college admissions scandal that rocked America.

She was one of 51 parents charged with manipulating test scores and bribing coaches to get their kids into better schools.

Felicity, 60, was accused of paying $15,000 to get a test examiner to help her daughter Sophia Macy, now 21, cheat.

She served just 11 days and was released early because her release date fell on a weekend and prison bosses didn’t let jailbirds out over a weekend.

Pete Doherty – 6 weeks

The Libertines frontman is no stranger to jail after being arrested numerous times for drug offences, drunk driving, car theft and getting behind the wheel while banned.

The Babyshambles singer has been imprisoned for possessing crack cocaine, heroin, cannabis and ketamine.

The star, who dated model Kate Moss between 2005 and 2007, walked free from jail just six weeks into a six-month sentence for drugs charges following the death of a society heiress.
