Chas Dingle’s (Lucy Pargeter) affair with Al Chapman (Michael Wildman) in the middle of her mum’s final few months in Emmerdale is something we cannot understand, to be honest.

Views aside, Chas has gotten into a terrible habit of finding comfort in the arms of Al instead of her husband Paddy (Dominic Brunt) and tonight, she did not end the sneaking around, oh no.

Chas spent the entire night in the pub speaking with Cain (Jeff Hordley), who had finally decided to step up and show Faith (Sally Dexter) some support.

Prior to this she had just slept with Al and was very on edge when Cain and Bear (Joshua Richards) picked up their phone, fearing it would be Al exposing their time together.

After reconnecting with Cain, he headed back to the farm and Chas secretly met up with Al again.

The way Chas was talking made Al think she wanted to end their time together, but then she put forward her actual deal.

Chas told Al that what they will have won’t involve emotions, and the only reason why they will have contact with each other is to arrange a time and place to meet up and have sex.

It’s obvious Chas is struggling to cope with everything that’s going on, but betraying her husband and having an affair with Al while her mother is dying with cancer?

Just plain wrong.
