Former Blue Peter star and Countryfile host Helen Skelton is among the 15 celebrities to sign up for this year’s Strictly Come Dancing. Her journey so far has been mixed with dance partner Gorka Marquez, but she is still in the running for the Glitterball trophy. So what is there to know about the TV presenter’s love life?
Is Strictly Come Dancing star Helen Skelton married?
Strictly star Helen Skelton was married to rugby league star Richie Myler for eight years.
Richie began his professional career with the Widnes Vikings in 2007 before joining Salford City Reds.
Fast-forward to the present day and he plays for rugby league giants Leeds Rhinos in the Super League after being signed in 2018.
They have three children together, Ernie, seven, Louis, five and daughter Elsie Kate, who is now around 10 months old.
Sadly, the couple split earlier this year after Richie broke up with Helen.
In a statement, she confirmed at the time: “Very sad to say that Richie and I are no longer a couple. He has left the family home.
“We will be doing our best to co-parent our small children.”
Helen and Richie first met in 2011 and one year later, he got down on one knee and asked for her hand in marriage.
The couple then tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in Helen’s childhood village Kirkby Thore, near Penrith, Cumbria, in December 2013.

Shortly after their split was announced, it was confirmed Richie had started dating a mystery woman.
It was later revealed that she was Stephanie Thirkill, 32, the daughter of the President of Leeds Rhinos, Andrew Thirkill.
He took to Instagram to share a picture of them on their holiday to Cornwall, with Stephanie calling it the “best weekend” in response.
This week, it was reported that Richie and Stephanie are now expecting their first child together.

Helen hasn’t spoken publicly about her ex-husband’s news but did share a picture of her three children.
Her two boys are seen playing a football video game, while her daughter is watching on.
The Instagram caption simply reads: “A life with brothers…”
Despite the difficulties in her personal life, Helen is still taking part in Strictly every weekend.
Helen and Gorka took on the Paso Doble for week four to Tamacun by Rodrigo.
The judges didn’t seem too impressed by her performance though, scoring her just 29 which put her near the bottom of the leaderboard.
But will viewers get behind her and ensure the presenter doesn’t end up in the bottom two?
Strictly Come Dancing continues every Saturday at 6.30pm on BBC One.
