Strictly Come Dancing's 2023 live final didn't impress all fans as some viewers shared their complaints on social media.
Straight after the episode started on Saturday (December 16), BBC One viewers were quick to disapprove of the opening saying it was "not needed" as fans wanted the show to swiftly move towards the dancing bit.
The celebs preparing for their final face-off this year are Layton Williams, EastEnders star Bobby Brazier, and Coronation Street diamond Ellie Leach. The trio with their fantastic pro dance partners – Nikita Kuzmin, Vito Coppola and Dianne Buswell respectively – trained hard for final routines aiming to woo judges and the home audience.

However, prior to start of the tingling grand episode, ardent fans had similar complaints regarding the introductory part. It featured each finalist in a heart-warming walk around the studio, a meet-and-greet with their respective pros, and performing a mini dance number.
The contenders also shared their fond reflections on their Strictly journey and their excitement for the ultimate showdown. Although, not everybody was impressed by the sentimental content. Plus, they didn't want "dramatic" footages capturing emotional moments.
Fans took to X (previously known as Twitter), urging for more action-packed dancing numbers and removal of the montage. "Not the dramatic vts oh god," posted a fan, while another mentioned: "X factor style, over produced opening vts are not needed."
One viewer grumbled: "Don't need all the moody VTs with the emotional music on the background. Heard it all before. Get on with the dancing!"
Corrie star Ellie and her dance partner Vito are tipped as likely winners of the show by convinced fans. Despite the competition being wide open, viewers have already started predicting the winners. On X, formerly Twitter, one fan wrote: "Rooting for Bobby to win tonight but think Ellie will win. Another agreed: " Another agreed: "I think it will be an easy win for Ellie Leach."

Another viewer chimed in: "I hope #Ellie wins," while another echoed: "Ellie is amazing and probably will." A fifth comment read: "Keep seeing tweets from people saying they want Bobby and Dianne to win but think Ellie will win."
This follows after Annabel Croft and Johannes Radebe sadly missed out on a place in the final last weekend, leaving the show in the semi-finals. An emotional Annabel thanked her pro dance partner for his love and support during their time on the show.
Speaking on It Takes Two, she said: "It's hard not to feel dazed by it all, it's just been the most magical 12 weeks. I enjoyed so much from it, from start to finish. If someone had said to me you might get to week 12, I'd have never believed it. I'm a little bit sad that I couldn't get us to the final and of course, we'd have loved to get through but we had some stiff competition."
