Strictly Come Dancings Eddie Kadi dealt major blow hours before BBC live show

Eddie Kadi is the favourite to be the next contestant eliminated from this year’s edition of Strictly.

The 40-year-old comedian is one of the famous faces taking part in the current series of the BBC One dancing competition. He found himself in the dance-off against Paralympian Jody Cundy last weekend and it looks like more heartbreak could be on the horizon.

Research from William Hill Vegas suggests the decision to perform the Samba tonight (Saturday, October 21) could greatly contribute to his downfall. The Brazilian routine, notorious for its complexity, has contributed to a whopping 20.6% of eliminations over the past six series inclusive, including Les Dennis from the second week of this year’s edition.

According to William Hill Vegas’ data, the Jive is the second riskiest routine from the 15 available dance genres, contributing to 15.5% of eliminations since 2018 – including Nikita Kanda from the current series – with the Cha Cha Cha rounding off the top three with 12%.

With Eddie braving the Samba after scoring an underwhelming 24 points alongside dance partner Karen Hauer last weekend, things are looking ominous for the comedian, who is the 13/8 favourite with William Hill to be the fourth contestant eliminated from the 2023 series.

Love Island star turned documentary Zara McDermott is the second favourite to depart the show at 7/4, with actor Adam Thomas third on the list at 10/3. Meanwhile, EastEnders star Bobby Brazier is now the joint-favourite to win the series, trading at 9/4 for glory alongside Casualty's Nigel Harman.

William Hill spokesperson Lee Phelps said: "The Samba is often perceived as one of the trickier routines in Strictly Come Dancing, though few would have imagined it to contribute to more than one in five Ballroom eliminations since 2018. That statistic will ring alarm bells for Eddie Kadi, who will be braving the Brazilian dance this weekend despite scoring a shaky 24 points in last week’s episode, with the comedian our current favourite to leave the show on Sunday."

For his week five dance, Eddie will be performing the Samba to Calm Down by Rema ft Selena Gomez with his professional partner Karen Hauer and the dup will have to blow the judges away with their routine if they wants to stay in the competition. They were awarded a 10 from head judge Shirley Ballas for their Couples Choice routine in week three of the competition.
