Strictly winner confirmed as Alison Hammond notices Twitter clue before final

This Morning presenter Alison Hammond has had her say and predicted that Hamza Yassin will win this year's Strictly Come Dancing after noticing a clue on social media.

Alison and her co-host Dermot O'Leary were joined by Strictly's head judge Shirley Ballas before this year's finale, which will air this weekend.

While Shirley refused to say who she thinks will win, instead staying "neutral", Alison said she reckons she has it all worked out.

Describing herself as a big fan of social media, the former Strictly star said: "It's gonna be Hamza because his social media has grown the most."

Shirley, however, said: "I'm gonna go neutral because in their own right they've all improved in certain areas, right from the beginning."

Wildlife photographer Hamza has seen the biggest increase of followers on Twitter, followed by Helen Skelton, Fleur East and Molly Rainford.

Of course, this could be due to the fact that he was less well known than his opponents at the start of the series.

Hamza will battle it out in this weekend's finale against Fleur, Helen and Molly.

Will Mellor narrowly missed out on a place in the finale after he lost out to Fleur in the dance-off – though Shirley caught some heat from fans who disagreed with the decision to send Will home.

Defending herself on This Morning, Shirley said: "You look at both couples and it is a preference at the end of the day.

"I have a whole list of things the general public perhaps don't see to come to my conclusion – which is very difficult."

And while Alison said she thinks Hamza will win the show, she said Helen is the most improved out of the finalists.

"She's a non-dancer and she's just now brilliant," she said.

However she added that she was "quite interested" in the fact that this year, the three new professionals had all made it to the final – something which has never happened before.

Hamza is paired with Jowita Przystał, Fleur is with Vito Coppola and Molly is with Carlos Gu.

The only Strictly stalwart to make the final is Gorka Márquez, who is paired with Helen.

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV
