In the build up to his debut on the programme, actor Layton hinted at who he could be paired with in the hopes of nabbing the Glitterball trophy.

On Sunday (September 3), Layton uploaded a video of his reaction with the caption: "Me, minutes before I met my Strictly pro!"

In the clip, the Bad Education star can be seen beaming back at the camera and making faces to an accompanying soundtrack that said: "This is because you genuinely don’t know which is great. It’s going to be a genuine surprise."

Layton shared the video that he ended by blowing an overwhelmed raspberry at the camera with another caption, writing: "Happy to say, I’m HAPPY!"

Unsurprisingly, fans quickly jumped into the comment section to share their thoughts on the upcoming season, wishing him luck and guessing as to who it could be.

One said: "I would so love this to be Graz."

Another typed: "Hoping it’s the one and only @vitocoppola – although you’re gonna slay regardless of who it is .. we will be cheering (and voting when the time comes) don't you worry."

"Can’t wait to find out, I hope it’s Johanne," someone else typed in response to Layton's teaser clip.
