Strictly’s Les Dennis reveals dramatic weight loss as he’s dumped out of the contest amid storm of controversy | The Sun

AXED Strictly star Les Dennis lost one and a half stone before being first to leave the competition.

The actor failed to get the votes to make it past week two – despite his 50 years in showbusiness.

His swift exit will put a stop to his new fitness regime, which has helped him shift the weight.

It's after a lacklustre routine to Rock the Boat by The Hues Corporation, which left him in last place on the scoreboard.

"I've lost 20lbs. I'm feeling really happy about it," Les told Heat, before Saturday night's show.

"Now I'm a bit thinner, I don't mind whacking a few more sequins on. Nothing sheer, though. This does go out before the watershed."

Les won't get the opportunity to don more sequins, however after the veteran entertainer failed to charm viewers with his sailor-themed Samba.

The Family Fortunes star, 69, scored just 15 points – and had to perform again in the dance-off against BBC Asian Network DJ Nikita Kanda, 28.

The lacklustre routine to Rock the Boat by The Hues Corporation only picked up 15 points from the judges and was savaged by viewers at home.

Craig Revel Horwood lased out at Les's performance, telling the star: "You've taken basic to a whole new level. It looked like you were limping with a broken ankle."

Les – who turns 70 next week – was the oldest contestant on the BBC dance show bar Angela Rippon, 78.

Strictly fans have come up with their own conspiracy theories about his quick exit – with some suggesting that the TV presenter was only booked for a short stint because he is set to appear in Beauty and the Beast Pantomime in early December.
