The 1975 star Matt Healy’s ‘dodgy’ move slammed as he does bizarre 'age-check' before snogging screaming fan | The Sun

THE 1975 singer Matt Healy has left fans creeped out after appearing to check a woman's age before kissing her at a gig.

Matt, 33, has recently gone viral for his lip-locking antics after pulling a fan on stage previously in Las Vegas.

But his latest behaviour left an unsettling taste in his fan's mouths after a video emerged of him appearing to check a woman's ID.

The footage showed Matt – the son of Loose Women star Denise Welch – glancing over a laminated card as his fans scream.

At one stage, the frontman bites down on the ID in an apparent bid to make sure it is real.

Seemingly satisfied with his checks, Matt hops off the stage and approaches the red-headed woman.

Grabbing her face, he asks "are you ready? Are you ready for your first kiss?"

He then gives her a lingering kiss on the lips followed by a short peck as his fans go wild.

In a second clip, he can be heard saying "you better not be 16" as the woman shouts she has ID.

The video was posted online with the caption: "This is so sweet pls".

But the clip has divided viewers – with some left feeling creeped out by the pre-kiss precautions.

One said: "That is the most unsettling thing I’ve ever seen".

Another wrote: "There’s something just a little creepy about this."

While one commented: "If by sweet you mean creepy then yes I agree."

The fan Matt kissed in Las Vegas recently was forced to defend the singer after he was slammed.

He was performing song Robbers when he pulled a dark-haired woman from the crowd and locked lips with her on stage.

She later clarified the smooch was consensual after she held up a sign asking: "So we making out?"

The fan said: "On a real note I do want to state some facts before we get any farther, i had this on my phone because he mentioned at some point 'I can only make out with you'.

'So I did this, he saw it and brought me up, HE ASKED before he kissed me!"

It comes after Matt, who dated FKA Twigs, previously spoke about how he struggled with being sexualised by the band's fanbase.

He told The Guardian: "People were having a romantic relationship with the band, I was sexualised to a certain extent; it was sexy, in the way that leather jackets and smoking and all that kind of s**t was sexy."

Matt admitted he found this difficult due to struggling with his mental health as he hadn’t dealt with some traumatic "early sexual experiences".

The Sun Online has contacted Matt's rep for comment.
